Orthodontics

Orthodontic treatment is a way of straightening or moving teeth, to improve the appearance of the teeth and how they function. Orthodontic treatment can also help to look after the long-term health of your teeth, gums and jaw joints, by spreading the biting pressure over all your teeth. The best time to have orthodontic treatment is generally during early teenage years. Adults can have orthodontic treatment too - and more and more are doing so. The development and improvement of the Invisalign orthodontic system has made treatment much more acceptable to both young people and adults.

The first step is to have a consultation. This will usually involve looking at your teeth, taking x-rays, and making 3-D models of your teeth. Our orthodontist will then discuss what treatment options are possible, and likely time and costs of treatment. Once you decide you want to go ahead, the treatment can then start. Today’s orthodontics offers more options than ever before, from fixed braces on the outside of your teeth, removable appliances, and Invisalign (clear aligners).
